Dear BCTRA Members and fellow professionals,
The Education Committee is working to organize and coordinate teleconference education opportunities for members. Our current plan is to host 4 per year, one in the end of March, June and October 2010. Our aim is to involve all the health authorities as well as any member who would like to contribute. We want to enable as many professionals as we can to take advantage of these sessions.
Last month, we had Sheila Kennedy from Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children speak about Therapeutic Clowning. There were 10 remote sites linked in to this session and much positive feedback was received from audience members after the presentation. It was an hour-long session that was relatively easy to put together - the time goes by so quickly and at least fifteen minutes were put aside for a more interactive question and answer period which is often the highlight of sessions like these.
We are still looking for presenters for this year. Some of you filled out a survey in fall 2009 and indicated that you would be interested in presenting. We appreciate your support and will continue to work with you towards coordinating education sessions.
If you have an idea for a topic or know of someone who would be willing to present please contact:
