I completed a Diploma of Recreation Therapy at Douglas College, New Westminster, B.C.in 2000 and I am an Activity Worker in a seniors residential complex care facility.
I am supported by my employer, St. Michael’s Centre, to attend continuing education. On going education is essential in these times of much research in Dementia care, imposed residential living situations by politicians, and societal values of end of life being a meaningful and purposeful experience.
I am an adventurer, traveling extensively, living abroad for five years, Executive Secretary, marriage, three children, and a veteran volunteer in my community of Coquitlam. Education, sport organizations and various groups that formed to protect community values were areas that led me to become a lobbyist working to secure funding, maintain environments and recruit participants for community organized activities.
I enjoy a different lifestyle now, divorced and rather than the downhill skiing, roller blading and tennis I focus on family, friends, walking, bowling, book club, the arts, fitness activities, also I play at sketching and writing poetry and I love dancing.
