After years spent trying to uncover my educational path (which included the sciences, English literature, and Anthropology) I came upon Therapeutic Recreation. I truly feel that this field combines everything I find fascinating and valuable in all other disciplines. I am currently in my third year of the Douglas College Therapeutic Recreation Program and am quite awestruck when I stop to think about all that I have learned and applied in this relatively short amount of time.
I hope to work and gain experience in all areas of TR, but have a passion for mental health and corrections. Upon completion of my degree I plan to return to Northern B.C. to practice and hope to eventually live and work in the Territories. In my spare time I enjoy discovering the rich cultural scenes of Vancouver, attending as many live music events as I can.
As the BCTRA student liason my main goal is to be an active conduit between the TR student body and the BCTRA organization. I will work hard to communicate my belief in the importance and relevance of this organization while keeping students informed of the current issues affecting our field.
I look forward to working with this fantastic organization as well as serving and representing my fellow students.
