Sarah Rosenthal, Secretary
Growing up, I always pictured myself in a unique career which enabled me to use my creative side to work with people and to promote both the health and well-being of others. It took me a few tries in a variety of post secondary endeavors to find the right fit in therapeutic recreation. From day one of my education at Douglas College I knew that this was the field for me! Employment during school in various positions with older adults, adults with brain injury and adults with developmental disabilities solidified my love for therapeutic recreation. As a student, I served as the BCTRA student liaison from 2008 to 2010 and learned so much from the experience, including the importance of a strong professional association. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation from Douglas College in 2011. Soon after, I became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Currently not working as I am home with a brand new baby, I look forward to staying connected to the field by serving as the BCTRA secretary. I anticipate that I will put my super organizational skills to the test as I work with the other directors to better your BCTRA while I hold the position of BCTRA's secretary.
