I graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax in May, 2010, with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. With a wonderful experience on the East Coast, I was ready to explore the West Coast. In 2010, I moved to Vancouver, BC, to complete an Internship at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Upon completion of my degree in 2010, I achieved my CTRS certification through NCTRC. I am now working in a Vancouver Coastal Health Complex Care Facility in Richmond.
I am passionate about Recreation Therapy and believe that every individual has the right to participate in activities that are meaningful and bring pleasure to their lives. I am a strong believer that we should practice what we preach, and I commit to this every day by doing the things that make me happy and keep me healthy - biking, running, yoga, snowboarding, hiking, and sailing.
I am confident in saying that I love what I do and I look forward to working with individuals to achieve their goals and take on new challenges. I am a strong advocate for Recreation Therapy and I look forward to supporting members in becoming a CTRS and working with NCTRC to ensure the BCTRA is always maintaining high professional standards.
